Anticipation for CBSE Results
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to release the Class 10 and 12 board examination results for 2025, with over 42 lakh students awaiting their scorecards. Conducted from February 15 to April 4, 2025, across 7,842 centers in India and 26 countries, the exams saw 24.12 lakh Class 10 and 17.88 lakh Class 12 students participate. Based on historical trends—May 13 in 2024 and May 12 in 2023—the results are expected between May 7 and May 12, though CBSE has debunked rumors of a May 6 release. Students can access provisional marksheets via multiple platforms, including the UMANG App.
UMANG App: A Seamless Option
The UMANG App (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance), part of India’s Digital India initiative, offers a user-friendly way to check CBSE results. Available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, students can download it, create an account with their mobile number, and log in. To access results, navigate to the CBSE Class 10 or 12 result link, enter credentials like roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth, then submit to view and download the scorecard. The app’s mobile interface helps bypass website traffic issues, ensuring quick access to provisional marksheets.
Other Access Methods
Beyond the UMANG App, students can check results on official CBSE websites—cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.nic.in—or through DigiLocker, which provides digital marksheets using roll number and a 6-digit school PIN. An SMS service allows results via a message format (e.g., “cbse10 roll number school number center number” to 7738299899). The Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) at 24300699 (with area code) offers results via phone for areas with limited internet. Students must collect original marksheets from schools for official use, as online results are provisional.
What to Expect Post-Results
CBSE results will detail subject-wise marks, grades, and pass/fail status, with a minimum 33% required per subject to pass. Class 10 uses a 9-point grading system, while Class 12 reports percentage marks. With 2024 pass rates at 93.60% for Class 10 and 87.98% for Class 12, a slight uptick is anticipated due to moderate exam difficulty. Students failing one or two subjects can take compartment exams in July 2025, while revaluation options will open post-results. As anticipation builds, students are urged to keep admit cards ready and rely on official updates.
